HIGHLIGHTS

Adventure in the Majestic Himalayas – Stay at the picturesque campsites – Tent Pitching, Bush craft, Navigation – Wild life and Nature Photography – CB Range, Mayar Valley Mt. Menthosa at 6443m is the 2nd Highest Peak in Lahaul and Spiti district of Himachal Pradesh, the first being Mulkila(6517m) – 80km further to the southeast. It was first climbed in 1970 by a British Service Team. Menthosa is situated in the Urgos Nallah a tributary of the exceptionally beautiful Miyar Nallah. Urgos in Miyar, is the roadhead for climbing this peak. We start from Manali and drive to Miyar Valley in Lahaul across the Rohtang La over 8 hrs.

From Urgos we turn northwest into the Urgos Nallah and reach Base Camp just in a day. Menthosa is a great peak to climb for people looking to step up from easy trekking peaks to technical climbs in the heavily glaciated Himalayan mountains.

Detailed Itinerary

DAY 1: Manali Arrive check into your hotel.
Full day in Manali, you will visit Hadimba Devi temple (This temple was erected in 1553 and is dedicated to Goddess Hadimba. Then Old Manali and Mall road (where you can go for shopping& Eating), Overnight stay in hotel at Manali.

DAY 02: MANALI – UDAIPUR (2650 M)
Morning after breakfast, a scenic drive takes you through Atal tunnel that into the forbidden land of Lahaul, where you encounter a different culture and landscape. Evening reach at Udaipur, Overnight in hotel

DAY 03: UDAIPUR – TINGRIT- URGOS (3250 M)
A 23 kms drive to from to Urgos from Udaipur is exhilarating as you witness changing landscapes in a small distance. Approach towards the base camp is through Miyar Valley, which has a rich cultural heritage. Upon reaching Urgos we move towards camp for the night. This will be the time to meet your cook, kitchen helper and porters and off course the trekking guide. Evening free for lesiour. Overnight in tents.

DAY 04: URGOS – BASE CAMP (4200 M)
Morning after breakfast get ready for your first day trek, you will hand over your bags, climbing equipment to our porters, The 7 kms hike from Urgos to Menthosa Base Camp is a terrific hike: not too difficult, yet steep enough to warm you up for the climb. Magnificent views of the surrounding peaks gets prettier as you go higher. (Packed Lunch will be provided inroute) The last 1000 meters elevation will be a tough climb. Basecamp will be set before your reach, Overnight at base camp.

DAY 05-11: BASE CAMP (Establishing ABC, CAMP 1, Summit Camp, Load Ferry, Summit attempt)
Form day 05 to day 11 Establish higher camps & Attempt peak, Climbing guides will help you to open the route and make necessary arrangements for you after the basecamp, You are also connected with the basecamp and our Backup team by walkie talkie, We update you about the weather conditions on time to time accordingly The summit team will take the decision, from the summit you will get the panoramic view of Miyar valley.

DAY 12: BC – URGOS – UDAIPUR
Morning after breakfast, again handover your bags to the Porters, leave the base camp and trek down to reach Urgos, hot lunch will provide enroute. From Urgos our transport team will wait for us, after sift all the luggage in the cabs we drive to Udaipur. Overnight in the hotel. DAY 13: UDAIPUR – MANALI Morning after breakfast drive back to Manali. Upon arrival check in the hotel for overnight stay. End your Expedition
