The Hamta Circuit follows the scenic Hamta Valley up to Hamta Pass, historically used by Spiti’s people for trade and grazing. Locals recommended it as the shortest route to Manali. Sethan village, the last settlement before Manali, was originally founded by Spiti inhabitants seeking better trade. The region boasts forests of sal, rhododendron, oak, deodar, birch, and pine, sheltering wildlife like musk deer, ibex, Himalayan brown bear, and even snow leopard. Birdwatchers can spot Himalayan griffin vultures, finches, and sparrows. In summer, green meadows bloom with flowers, attracting Himalayan bees that pollinate across the region.
