    Manali Tilgan Circle Trek

    The Hamta Circuit comprises of the picturesque Hamta Valley which leads to the Hamta Pass. This circuit was used by the people of Spiti to cross over to Manali for trade, cattle grazing, etc. This pass was also recommended by the local natives as the shortest way to reach Manali. It is said that the inhabitants of the Sethan village –the last village that we leave behind in Manali -were basically the people of Spiti Valley who settled there for a better trade opportunities. Flora & Fauna :

    The variety of forests like sal, rhododendron, oak, fir, deodar, birch, and pines are the pride of this region. These forests shelter for large number of wild animal and birds. Wildlife, among which some rare species like the musk deer, ibex, thar, Himalayan brown bear and snow leopard are still found here.

    Vast variety of birds can be spotted on this trail, from the Himalayan Griffin vultures soaring in the skies to colourful Finches to sparrows.

    The summer months offer green meadows laden with various species  of flowers and barriers. Scents of such beautiful flowers attract the Himalayan bees, which help in pollination across the Himalayan region.

    Trek Itinerary

    • DAY 1: Chandigarh – Manali (350km  Drive time 8 hours)
      Pick up from Chandigarh and drive to Manali. Welcome reception and check into your Luxury tent accommodation. Prepare for your adventure in the Himalayas. Dinner and stay at your campsite.
    • DAY 2: Kalath Base camp
      Wake up in the lap of the Himalayas. Get ready and introduction to your guides for briefing followed by snacks and join your instructors for acclimatisation walk.  Return back to base camp and
    • DAY 3: Rock climbing & Rappelling
      After breakfast join your instructors for a short walk, followed by introduction to rock climbing gear, demonstration on rock climbing and abseiling. Enjoy a day full of thrills of rock craft, amidst the Himalayas.
    • DAY 4: Kalath Base camp – Tilgan 2430m (Hike 6 hours)
      After breakfast join your guides/team on the trail that crosses over slopes and alpine pasture to Tilgan. This part is fully covered with medicinal herbs and plants. Various species of wild flowers can be seen along with the birds chirping in the forests. We will be crossing nallah (small streams), and enjoy the magnificent view of Hanuman Tibba, Mt. Friendship with massive glacier and moraine. During spring till end of autumn entire area is filled with shepherds. Who move to Lahaul –high pasture land after crossing Hamta pass and in autumn return back to their home. Take a short break and continue your trek to Tilgan. Arrive to a set up camp and welcomed by the team. Check into your tents and enjoy the view of Himalayas. Stay at camp site.
    • Day 5: Tilgan – Road head – Base camp Kalath (Hike & Drive 4)
      Wake up among the Himalayas and enjoy the sunrise on the snow capped mountains. Early after breakfast pack up the campsite and depart for Road head. Today’s trek leads you above tree line following the stream and meadows. One will get to observe various species of flowers and butterflies. The air is filled with the aroma of fresh breeze and various birds. Arrive at your campsite and check inn.
    • Day 6: Check out & Onward Journey
      After breakfast, checkout and take connecting cabs to Chandigarh and continue your journey to the next best destination Home.

    • Cut off period for cancellation 30 days – Nil Cancellation
    • Cancellation received 15 – 30 Days, will incur cancellation charges of one night.
    • Cancellation received within 15 days of the arrival date, will incur a cancellation charge equivalent to accommodation for the entire length of stay originally booked.
     

    LOW SEASON / OFF SEASON 

    • Cut off period for cancellation 15 days – Nil Cancellation
    • Cancellation received 7-15 days, will incur cancellation charges of one night.
    • Cancellation received less than 72 hrs will incur a cancellation charge equivalent to accommodation for the entire length of stay originally booked.
