Anurag Sood

Anurag Sood owes it all to the genes of his great mountaineering grandfather, Sh. Tara Chand Thakur, a well-known mountaineering pioneer who has the conquest of many a peak in the region to his name. A die-hard mountain lover, Anurag was beckoned to the world of mountain climbing at the very young age of 12.

This passion stayed with him during his adolescent years and enthralled him to take up this diverse career. Knowing well that it is a danger to life by even a mini second of imprecision and inaccuracy, he also underwent rigorous training in first aid and other important aspects of mountaineering and rescue. To add to his kitty of skills, he also trained to conduct skiing courses from the erstwhile Mountaineering Institute Manali.

Being a hard-core perfectionist and a mountaineer who has been climbing and leading trekking expeditions since 2000, he is very prudent and commands a respect in the mountaineering community in Manali. He has led and organized many climbing expeditions across Himachal, Uttaranchal, Leh, and Ladakh as well trek on the foothills of Nepal for many schools and colleges from India and Nepal.
