Tour Highlights
Known in local Lahauli culture as the "Peaks of Good and Evil", these two towering summits in the Pir Panjal range of Himachal Pradesh are among the most formidable and technical mountaineering objectives in the Indian Himalayas.
-
Dharmsura (White Sail): The 6,445m twin is considered the "Peak of Good."
-
Papsura (Peak of Evil): At 6,451m, it is the slightly higher, more challenging summit.
The peaks are located on the border of the Kullu, Lahaul, and Spiti districts. The expedition to these remote giants demands advanced mountaineering skills, high fitness levels, and prior experience on technical 6000m+ peaks. This is a serious alpine challenge, not a trekking peak.
-
This expedition is a rare opportunity to scale two legendary 6,400m+ peaks—Dharmsura ('Good') and Papsura ('Evil')—in a single, challenging journey.
-
Navigate a true alpine challenge with technical sections, including steep 70–80-degree ice slopes, knife-edge ridges, mixed rock-ice terrain, and heavily crevassed glaciers.
-
Experience the unique isolation of a remote expedition; the long and arduous approach to the mountain's base in the East Tosh Glacier has resulted in it being rarely climbed.
-
Conquer a peak that tests the resilience of even the most experienced mountaineers, where mental fortitude is as crucial as physical prowess.
-
Immerse yourself in the rich local mythology, where the peaks are believed to mirror the cosmic balance of good and evil, their perceived heights shifting along with the moral compass of the world.
-
The summit rewards climbers with an unparalleled 360-degree panorama of the surrounding Himalayan peaks, glaciers, and the vast Spiti Valley far below.
